Do you offer the Maryland Handgun Qualification class required by the State Police?

Yes. We do offer Maryland HQL classes as required by the Maryland Firearms Safety Act of 2013 that went into effect October 1st.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept Cash, Check, Credit Cards, CashApp and Money Orders.

Do I need to make a reservation or can I just show up for the class?

You must make a reservation and post a $50 deposit to be in the class.

If, for some reason, I am unable to come to the class, will you refund my deposit?

No. Deposit is non-refundable. However, you can reschedule for any class within one year. Your deposit can be used for the new class.

What is the minimum age to take the class?

12 to 15 years old can be admitted with the parent or legal guardian taking a class with him/her. Ages 15 to 18 must present a permission slip signed by a parent or legal guardian.

What should I bring to the HQL class?

Do not bring a firearm or ammunition to the training center. The HQL class is 4 hours long and includes a live fire portion so you should dress appropriately to sit in a class and shoot a pistol. Laptop, Tablet, or paper note taking is encouraged, so feel free to bring any device that will aid in information retention.
